Let’s take unconscious gender bias head-on
Unconscious gender bias. It’s in us all, planted, reinforced from a young age, and often carries over to the workplace. It flourishes under the radar disguised as well-meaning comments, and subtle undermining behaviors, diminishing the value of other reforms or empowering activities corporations undertake. These microaggressions, ranging from tokenism to mansplaining and benevolent sexism chip away at women’s confidence and hold them back.
#SpotItToStopIt is our endeavor to address unconscious gender bias. So that we all learn to recognize them, whether in our own behavior or others’, and equip ourselves with the tools to challenge them, change them effectively. Let’s learn to dismantle it in our organizations and teams.
